This guide is meant as a reference for families selecting which classes are right for their dancers. Age range is a guideline and may vary between individual dancers. Please contact the RDA Office to confirm level placement and schedule any trial classes.
EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSES

TINY FEET: For children ages 18 - 36 months with a caregiver; an introduction to rhythm and movement exploration.
* Only one parent/guardian is permitted to join their dancer each week as part of class. We ask that any additional parent/guardians or obesrvers who wish to join reach out to the RDA Office in advance. CREATIVE MOVEMENT: For ages 3 - 4, this class focuses on engaging the imagination of young dancers, introducing group dynamics, developing rhythmic patterns and exploring the diversity of movement. * Dancers are strongly recommended to be potty trained by this level. For families with dancers not yet potty trained, please be aware that RDA faculty & staff cannot be responsible for changing diapers or pull ups. It is recommended that parents/guardians stay on site in case of any accidents. ELEMENTARY DANCE: Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop For ages 5 - 6, an introduction to basic movement and a classical dance vocabulary in a creative setting; building on the dancer’s growing concentration span and physical dexterity. Classes include developmental work on shapes, spatial pathways, coordination, rhythm, dance vocabulary, fine motor skills, balance, and more. |
YOUTH AND TEEN CLASSES

BALLET A - E: In five graduated levels of instruction, training in barre and centre work develops students’ dance vocabulary, alignment, coordination, core strength, and musicality.
POINTE AND (PRE)POINTE: Students are introduced to training for (pre)pointe work at the barre and in the centre.

JAZZ I, II, III, IV: Students are exposed to technique-based, concert jazz classes consisting of a centre barre, progressions, and a combination based in any of the various jazz styles. Progressive levels build dancers’ awareness of body rhythms, coordination, performance quality, and the ability to master increasingly complex and intricate choreography.
MODERN I, II, III, IV: Dancers are introduced to the modern classical techniques of Graham, Horton, Limon, and contemporary movement forms. Classes consist of a centre barre, progressions, and a combination as dancers explore movement through various shapes, levels, and pathways.
THEATRE JAZZ I, II, III, IV: A musical theatre-based jazz class emphasizing the narrative aspect of dance. Suitable for dancers who wish to enhance their technical training and improve on their performance quality.
CONTEMPORARY I, II, III, IV: Dancers incorporate the technicality of classical ballet dance with the free form movement of other breakout styles, such as modern and jazz. Contemporary encourages flow, energy, breath, and technicality. Common styles include the use of floor work, improvisation, and finding an emotional connection with movement.

HIP HOP I, II, III, IV: Hip Hop has taken the world by storm in recent years, catapulting to new heights with the rise of social media. Class begins with a cardio warm-up followed by combinations that focus on rhythm, energy, individual style, and dynamic versatility.
TAP I, II, III, IV: Dancers master tap vocabulary and techniques that emphasize the development of musicality and exploration of a full range of rhythmic styles. Dancers will learn the rich history of this American dance form all while wearing shoes adorned with metal taps.
TEEN PARTNERING:
For ages 12+; must be level III+, or with permission. Participants will explore the dynamic connection between dancers through weight sharing, lifts, counterbalance, and synchronized movement. Students learn to build trust, develop spatial awareness, and communicate physically, while refining their technique and creativity.
JUMPS & TURNS:
For ages 10+; must be level II+. This is a class designed to boost your power, control, and creativity! Dancers will focus on building the strength and precision needed for impressive leaps and dynamic turns. Each class will include targeted conditioning exercises aimed at developing core stability, lower-body strength, and explosive elevation for higher jumps. Dancers will also explore a variety of turning techniques—from classic pirouettes to more contemporary and creative variations—designed to enhance musicality, spatial awareness, and artistic expression. Whether you're training for auditions or just want to level up your skills, this open level class blends athleticism with artistry in a challenging and supportive environment.

ADULT & OPEN LEVEL CLASSES

ADULT BALLET: Training in barre and centre work develops students’ dance vocabulary, alignment, coordination, core strength, and musicality.
ADULT JAZZ: Technique-based, concert jazz classes consisting of a center barre, progressions, and a combination based in any of the various jazz styles. Progressive levels build dancers’ awareness of body rhythms, coordination, performance quality, and the ability to master increasingly complex and intricate choreography. ADULT MODERN: Progressive instruction introduces dancers to the techniques of Graham, Horton, Limon, and contemporary movement forms. Classes consist of a center barre, progressions, and a combination as dancers explore movement through various shapes of the body, levels, directions through space, and weight transference. ADULT TAP: Dancers master tap vocabulary and techniques in classes that emphasize the development of musicality and exploration of a full range of rhythmic styles. Dancers will learn the rich history of this American dance form all while wearing shoes adorned with metal taps. ADULT THEATRE JAZZ: A musical theatre-based jazz class emphasizing the narrative aspect of dance. Suitable for dancers who wish to enhance their technical training and improve on their performance quality. ADULT HIP HOP: Class begins with a cardio warm-up followed by combinations that focus on rhythm, energy, individual style, and dynamic versatility. Dancers will find self expression as they grow in confidence and skill. ADULT PARTNERING: Dancers will experiment with trust exercises, basic contact movement, weight sharing, and lifting with partners and in groups. No previous partnering experience is necessary! VINYASA YOGA: Participants will be guided through a warm-up, flow sequences, a peak posture, cool down, and Savasana. The class will emphasize breath, fluid movement, and mindful alignment. Designed for all levels, it will help build strength, flexibility, and balance. Students will leave feeling centered and refreshed. STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: Using body weight, and light weights, participants will sculpt their bodies from top to bottom. After a full body warmup, the class will move through high repetitions of small movements to train muscular endurance and strengthen stability. Be ready to challenge your arms, legs, back, and core in this 60-minute rhythmic workout. You can expect a combination of Barre movements, Pilates exercises, cardio elements, and more. Any experience and fitness level welcome.P Participants are welcome to bring mats, weights, or any preferred props; though no equipment is needed. FLOOR BARRE: Using resistance of the floor and the force gravity, dancers will execute basic ballet barre exercises while lying down. The goal of floor barre is to use natural alignment with muscular support. By the end of each class, dancers will have activated their core, rotator, arms and back. Each class will end with a few simple standing exercises to practice maintaining the principles worked on while on the floor. INCLUSIVE DANCE: This class is designed for people with and without disabilities to dance in a supportive and creative environment. Dancers will have the opportunity to experiment with movement, learn phrase work, and create dances. Over the course of the class period, dancers will work through warm up, stretching, and choreography - increasing strength, technique, stamina, confidence, and ability to pick up movement. SEATED DANCE: This dance class is designed to be taken from a chair, for adults over the age of 45 who have difficulty or are unable to stand or move around for extended periods of time. Dancers move through warm up, stretching, and phrase work, with a focus on moving in a way that best suits each individual. Opportunities are given throughout class to do all or portions of the class standing, with or without support. No prior dance experience necessary! OPEN STUDIOS: Dancers 12+y.o are invited to work on material independently, including personal choreography, class combinations, and technical skills. Reserve your space at least 24 hours to confirm a faculty member will be present for each Open Studio session. |
